Hi! I’m Jacqueline Bowler. I am a communications expert with a PhD in Communication and Media from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and over 10+ years experience in instructional design, user experience research, audiovisual production, and project management.
I passionate about using media technology to tell compelling narratives, educate, and make meaning and clarity out of complex information. I love to analyze situations to determine exactly what communication is needed and to design and develop learning content that provides for the most seamless user experience and purposeful educational outcomes.
I am a curious and passionate lifelong student of history, media and technology. My research interests include the history of personal computers; new media technology and the music industry; sound design and film scores. I speak Spanish fluently. I love to travel and expose myself to diverse geographies, cultures, and perspectives.

I am also a pianist, composer, and music producer.
I have played piano virtually my whole life. I am largely self-taught and play many different styles of music. I both play by ear and read sheet music. I briefly studied classical piano when I was young followed by some classes in music theory. In college I played in jazz and rock bands — then I learned electronic music production and started to compose minimalist soundscapes. Other projects include modern chamber music (piano, violin, cello) and producing samples for hip-hop and experimental techno collaborations. Most recently I have begun to play my own unique take on cocktail and lounge piano. I have also taught piano lessons for over a decade and love inspiring others’ passion for the instrument.
